About TPA

The People's Alternative opened its doors in 1991 and since then has served New York clients, especially in the Capital District and surrounding regions in upstate New York, with an ever expanding array of quality, affordable services in Law. With the advent of the internet, services are now available no matter where you are located.

Bliss Alexandra, the firm's founder, received her M.P.A. from the Rockefeller Institute of Public Affairs and Policy with a concentration in Law. After graduating she was awarded a Public Service Internship, the equivalent in Law of a doctor's internship in a hospital. Subsequently, she worked in the Governor's Office as an Assistant in Program Development on women's issues, and in the New York State Legislature as an Executive Assistant.

In 1990 when Ms. Alexandra was faced with handling her own divorce, she found nothing available an ordinary person could understand to help her through the process. Local lawyers were charging $1,500.00 retainers and seemed removed from the practicalities she was experiencing. Professional mediators were equally unhelpful. Frustrated by the experience but feeling up to the challenge, she first compiled the paperwork necessary to complete a divorce without a lawyer's help and obtained her own divorce in a week. Realizing she could offer a real service to others, she hired a lawyer and editor and authored the book Divorce: A New Yorker's Guide . And, she opened The People's Alternative to benefit others faced with divorce by providing knowledge and doing their paperwork. When the publisher of her book breached their contract, she researched and filed a lawsuit in Federal court. That experience opened the door for her to the world of Law and the "justice" system, which she has since intensively studied for the past nine years.

The People's Alternative is on the front line of constitutional revival. As we daily attend to a multitude of law and administrative issues confronting the average Citizen, we see first hand how the roots of a wide range of national and individual problems stem from an abysmal ignorance of one of the greatest documents ever written, The Constitution for the united States of America. We believe the sooner we individually and together return government to the organic Constitutional foundation endowed to us by our Founding Fathers, the sooner each one of us and American society overall will experience that high quality living true freedom bestowes. To help promote that end, all of our clients receive a complimentary copy of the united States Constitution and the newspaper "The Liberty Proclaimer".

We hope you'll support our evolving work for you, the children and future generations by purchasing our services, referring family and friends who need the kind of help we provide, and, if you have the ability, donating contributions for those who need justice services but cannot afford them. We promise you that the services and information you find on our website now and in the future will be consistent with our name -- The People's Alternative. We sincerely hope you return from time to time as we intend is to continue on the cutting edge, leading the way in delivering the highest quality services in Law to you the Sovereign Citizens of New-York and the united States of America, a Republic.
